Groups &
Training

There is a wide range of Carer events and activities across Walsall providing opportunities for you to meet with other Carers and have some time and space just for you. Promote Your Carer Events

Why is supporting Carers so important?

Ensuring you have a regular break from your caring responsibilities is important so that you can manage your own health and wellbeing. Having some time for yourself will re-energise you and enable you to cope that little bit better with your caring responsibilities. This type of self-care is needed whether you are new to caring or have been doing it for years.

There are a variety of events and activities available for Carers as well as support groups that you can go along to. By engaging with other Carers who are in the same position as you, can be a great comfort knowing that you are not alone. By meeting other Carers, in person or online, you can share experiences, exchange tips and make new friends.

Looking after someone can make some people feel lonely and isolated, especially if you have lost touch with your usual circle of friends, mixing with other Carers can be a lifeline. If you are unable to leave the house, there is the option of joining Carer groups online or joining a Facebook group. For example, you could ask to join the Carer Friendly Forum for Carers Facebook group.

Keep checking this page for updates on Carer activities, events and support groups and follow us on Facebook where events, training and webinars (on finances and safeguarding) will also be added. Sign up to our Carer Update emails where information, tips and Carer events will be delivered straight to your inbox.
