What is the Carer Friendly ID Card?
The Carer Friendly ID Card is the easiest way to verify you’re an unpaid Carer when you‘re out and about. The physical and digital cards display a passport style photo of yourself and is a simple way of verifying your status as an unpaid Carer without the need to carry confidential paperwork around with you. You can use either the physical card or the digital version in situations such as:
- when you are asked for prove you are a verified Carer
- in healthcare settings to be included in the conversation around medical planning for the person you care for
- with an employer if you want to be recognised as a working Carers and request additional
support due to your caring role

How do I get a Carer Friendly ID Card?
You can apply for your free Carer Friendly ID card by completing this form and uploading a head and shoulders photo of yourself.
We will send your card out to you in the post and you should receive it in up to 28 days. Please ensure when filling out the form you include the correct address and contact details for yourself.
