Know Your Rights: Walsall Carers Information Day
Join us this Carers Rights Day at Walsall Manor Hospital to discover the rights and support available to unpaid carers, parent carers, and family carers.
Caring for someone can be rewarding, but it can also be challenging — especially if you don’t know what help and rights you’re entitled to.
That’s why Walsall Carers Hub, in partnership with Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, Midland Mencap, Forward Carers, and Walsall Council, is hosting a special Walsall Carers Information Day on Thursday 20th November 2025.
The event runs from 10:00am to 2:30pm at Walsall Manor Hospital (Moat Rd, WS2 9PS) on the ground floor at the foot of the main escalator. It’s completely free and open to all carers across Walsall.
What You’ll Learn
At this friendly and informative drop-in, carers can find out more about:
- Your right to unpaid Carer’s Leave
- How to request flexible working
- Asking your GP to identify you as a carer
- Your right to a free flu jab
- Protection against discrimination or harassment
- How to request a carer’s assessment
- Your right to be consulted when the person you care for is discharged from hospital
There’ll also be opportunities to connect with local support services, get practical advice, and ask questions about your individual situation.
Get Support and Stay Connected
You can register with Walsall Carers Hub on the day to access ongoing support, information, and guidance throughout the year. Whether you’re a new carer or have been supporting someone for years, this event is a great opportunity to make sure you’re getting the help you deserve.
